R E T U R N T O M E
an ode to the road to joy
This dramatic and delightful cabaret by Katherine McCann walks one woman’s road to joy as she says good-bye to regret and decides to live the life she wants to live. Ultimately, this show is about throwing a party for yourself and making that party an open invitation to the world.
McCann is a terrific actress and really scored in material with a strong plotline, such as The Heel and Greatest Performance of My Life, that allowed her to tell a clear story. It was also a delight to hear cabaret interpretations of contemporary material such as Tori Amos’s Winter and Trent Reznor’s Hurt, showing that the great cabaret songbook keeps moving forward. — Michael Miyazaki, Washington correspondent for Cabaret Scenes magazine
This cabaret had its sold-out debut on March 21/22,2008 at the intimate black box theater at 1409 Playbill Cafe in Washington, DC.
